Hi, we’re Pippa and Ian and we are a married (to each other) duo of Professional Photographers who live in the beautiful South Downs National Park. We are based just outside Petworth and feel very lucky to have the stunning British countryside on our doorstep.
We make up nearly 2 halves of Pippa Mackenzie Photography. The rest of the business is made up by our very cute mascot and favourite chocolate lab, Inca. Inca does spend most of her time in the office but it has to be said that she’s normally fast asleep under Ian’s desk.
We love what we do and we want to share our photography with you in this blog and as the name might suggest we hope to include some our thoughts on the world of photography along the way.
A bit about Pippa
I’m a documentary and fine art wedding photographer. I specialise in telling a story, and through my experience in documentary photojournalism (Discovery Channel and National Geographic) and documentary television (where I won a BAFTA) I am able to capture the most special moments of your life.
I am inspired by photographers like Annie Leibovitz and Elliot Erwitt for their capacity to capture candid moments and reveal the intimacy of their subjects. My proudest moment so far was photographing Nelson Mandela at his 90th birthday celebrations in Hyde Park in 2008.
And a bit about Ian
I have extensive experience in photography, film and graphic design and use this broad knowledge of the visual arts to add a unique dimension to our business.
In addition to being the second wedding photographer in the team, I am the key designer of our wedding photography books and albums. I use my skills to create a stunning and unique memory of your wedding day.
My photographic inspirations are varied, from the wild artistic creativity of Man Ray to the honest realism of Henri Cartier-Bresson. I also draws inspiration from artists such as David Hockney and film makers like Martin Scorsese.
Pippa and Ian are a fantastic team. They worked together so well on the day and their photographs are amazing. Our Life book is truly unique and a perfect way to remember our day. Olivia & Toby
